MR 270-Vacuum box
The 270° Fillet Weld Vacuum Box is a specially designed vacuum box for leak testing along external welds with a 270° extension. It has a roof-like shape and rounded edges to accommodate welds such as “outer 90° edges” and enables testing in areas where a regular 90° box does not provide full coverage.
Key features and benefits
Roof/sheet-like construction with rounded edges to reach surrounding weld zones.
Realistic test design for external weld joints that include the “outer 90° edge”.
Standard length approx. 500 mm, making it practical for industrial use.
Complemented by MR Chemie's VSP leak test equipment and suitable hoses, sealing strips and inspection glasses.
Suitable for use with leak testing methods such as bubble testing, using moist test water/inspection spray and vacuum under box to reveal leaks.
Technical information
Box test surface: approx. 500 mm length.
Seal: soft rubber strip that forms around the welding area and ensures an airtight seal.
Inspection window: transparent and robust material, allowing bubbles and leak indications to be clearly observed.
Valve/Connection: Box can be connected to vacuum hose with standard conical adapter, and vacuum is carried over time to observe any leaks.
Operating temperature and environment: adapted for industrial environments, available in different sizes and “miniature” version for vessels with limited height.
Areas of application
Testing weld joints with external 270° geometry, such as in corners and around structural corners.
Inspection of tanks, vessels or containers where the weld covers more than just one surface.
Maintenance and control of leak tightness in welds exposed to liquids or hazardous substances.
Fulfillment of regulatory requirements that require documented leak testing for welded joints in particularly exposed zones.
