3×270°-Edge weld-vacuum box

3×270°-Edge weld-vacuum box

The 3×270° Edge Weld Vacuum Box is a vacuum box designed to test external weld joints that extend over three sides (270°) of an edge. It is typically used to inspect external corner weld joints, where the weld overlaps and covers almost the entire perimeter, except for one side.

Key features and benefits

  • Specialized for outer 3 × 270° edge welds , so the box can cover welds that surround almost the entire edge of a surface.

  • Supplied as a standard length vacuum box – adjusted to diameter – for economical use without unnecessary over-design.

  • Visible glass panes (“sight glass”) so that you can observe any bubbles/leakage while maintaining vacuum.

  • Can be supplied in various sizes depending on the diameter of the container or structure to be inspected.

Technical specifications

  • Application: Testing of outer 3×270° weld edges.

  • Order number: starts with "560..." according to the catalog.

  • Length: typical economical length around 500-750 mm for covering the weld.

  • Diameter range: varies by purpose – adapted to the diameter of the container.

Areas of application

  • Leakage inspection of weld corners that surround three sides of an edge, for example structural corners on tanks, vessels or containers where full assembled edge to edge weld geometry is used.

  • Situations where a regular 90° box or standard fillet box cannot cover the weld due to geometry.

  • Maintenance and inspection to ensure tightness in welding joints for hazardous liquids or other applications where the welding edges must be tight.
