Flying Vision BAV-40IC – Internal Corner Vacuum Box for Leak Testing

The BAV-40IC is a vacuum box from Flying Vision, specifically designed for non-destructive testing (NDT) of 90° internal corner welds . This triangular “bubble box” solution provides reliable leak testing in internal corners found in tanks, containers, flat roofs with membranes and mechanically welded structures.
Key features and benefits
Two-piece modular design with interchangeable base, providing flexibility for different surface and weld configurations.
Built-in hybrid vacuum system: supports both Venturi effect (compressor) and suction via vacuum pump.
Clear viewing opening of approximately 2 cm makes it easier to see bubbles during testing, providing confident and clear interpretation.
Robust sealing foam with triangular geometry , which increases deformation and provides good contact with the surface during testing.
The foam has high abrasion resistance and is resistant to hydrocarbons (35 mm height, 40/50 Shore 00) according to technical specifications.
Reliable vacuum control with pressure gauge and quick release valve for quick separation when the test is finished.
Optional options: reinforced transport case, calibrated vacuum gauge and optional vacuum pump (model PAV-2209).
Technical specifications
Dimensions: 490mm × 270mm × 130mm .
Weight: approx. 4.2 kg .
Vacuum measurement: down to –1 bar.
Materials: Main part in aluminum / plexiglass, base in plexiglass + closed-cell foam.
Sealing foam: 35 mm high closed-cell foam, Shore 40/50.
Areas of application
Leakage inspection of flat internal fillet welds, especially in tanks and metal structures.
Use in industrial facilities with requirements for tight documentation, e.g. petrochemical, tank building and shipbuilding industries.
Field work where fast, repeatable leak measurement of angle joints is critical.
Inspections of 90° corners in both metallic and non-metallic surfaces.
