Flying Vision BAV-7025 vacuum box

Flying Vision BAV-7025 vacuum box

The BAV-7025 from Flying Vision is a modular vacuum box (also known as a “bubble box”) designed for non-destructive testing (NDT) of flat surfaces. It is used to test tightness and leaks in weld joints, sheets, roofing membranes and similar applications by creating a vacuum and observing bubbles.

Key features and benefits

  • Two-piece design : Main body with window and a replaceable base case – provides flexibility and easy maintenance.

  • Hybrid vacuum system : Can generate vacuum either via venturi effect (compressor) or using a vacuum pump.

  • Precise regulation : Integrated adjustment valve and gauge (-1 bar) provide precise control over the vacuum level.

  • High visibility : Approximately 2 cm high readout window makes it easy to see bubble formation during testing.

  • Robust sealing foam : Closed-cell foam (35 mm high, 40/50 Shore 00) that is resistant to abrasion and hydrocarbons.

  • Versatility : Interchangeable base allows for inspection of different surfaces and welding configurations.

  • Modularity : Designed for easy disassembly and quick base replacement, reducing downtime and making the system flexible.

Technical specifications

  • Dimensions: approximately 700 × 250 × 130 mm .

  • Weight: about 8.3 kg .

  • Materials: Main body in aluminum alloy and plexiglass; base in plexiglass with closed-cell foam.

  • Vacuum gauge range: down to −1 bar.

  • Foam system: 35 mm height, hardness 40/50 Shore 00.

  • Minimum curve radius for inspection (with this model): approximately 8 meters for concave/convex surfaces.

  • Operating mode: Venturi mode via compressor or suction mode via vacuum pump.

Areas of application

  • Tightness inspection of flat welds, lap seams and butt welds on jars, plates and tanks.

  • Testing of water tightness and leaks in roof membranes and sealed surfaces (e.g. flat roofs, terraces).

  • Industrial environment where visual inspection of leaks is necessary, such as storage tanks, ship hulls or building structures.

  • Field inspections where fast and flexible leak testing is required, with the ability to change the base depending on geometry.
