MR-312

MR 312 Penetrant Red & Fluorescent is a red and fluorescent penetrant that can be removed with both water and solvent. It is classified as Type III, with sensitivity level 2, and is designed to work well even at low temperatures. The product provides strong visual indication under both white light (red color) and UV light. The carrier medium is alcohol, and the penetrant has good wetting properties for metal surfaces.

Key features and benefits

  • Combined red and fluorescent indication, providing flexibility in how the inspection is performed.

  • Type III penetrant — withstands both water-based and solvent-based removal.

  • Sensitivity level 2 according to EN ISO standards, provides reliable detection of surface defects.

  • Low temperature use: functional down to approximately -30°C, making it suitable for inspection in cold environments.

  • Withstands high temperatures during use: up to +50 °C.

  • Very good wetting ability on metal surfaces; fluorescent clarity and red color make defects visible under both UV and normal light.

Technical specifications

  • Type: Type III, red & fluorescent penetrant that can be removed with water and solvent.

  • Sensitivity: Level 2 in EN ISO 3452-2 and EN ISO 3452-6 standards.

  • Operating temperature: approx. -30 °C to +50 °C.

  • Storage temperature: approx. +5 °C to +45 °C.

  • Shelf life (at least): 3 years at recommended storage.

  • Delivery forms: aerosol (500 ml), and larger bulk volumes (5 L, 30 L, 200 L).

Areas of application

  • Surface inspection of welds, castings and metal parts where both white light and UV light are used to maximize defect detection.

  • Inspections under low temperature conditions (e.g. outdoors, cold storage, etc.).

  • When flexibility in removal (water or solvent) is needed, depending on availability and environmental requirements.

  • Use in aerospace, oil & gas, construction and other industries requiring precise, standardized penetrant testing.
