Pro-MAM Accreditation
Pro-MAM Accreditation is a quality assurance phantom for mammography systems, designed to verify that the system can image small clinical structures such as microcalcifications, fibrous structures, and tumor-like masses. It is ACR-Approved and meets current standards for mammography accreditation.
Key features and benefits
Includes test objects that simulate microcalcifications (Al₂O₃ specks), fibers (nylon fibrils), and tumor-like masses of varying sizes.
Designed to simulate a compressed breast of approximately 42 mm with an average distribution of glandular/adipose tissue (50/50) — providing realistic testing conditions.
Phantom is ACR approved and CE certified, as well as compliant with the IEC 61223-3-2 standard — ensuring its suitability for accreditation and quality assurance programs.
Technical specifications
Dimensions: approx. 101.5 × 108.0 × 44.0 mm .
Total PMMA thickness: approx. 36.75 mm .
Wax insert thickness: approx. 7.25 mm — contains test objects (fibrils, specks, masses).
Included test objects:
Nylon fibrils: 1.56mm, 1.12mm, 0.89mm, 0.75mm, 0.54mm, 0.40mm.
Microcalcifications (Al₂O₃ specks): 0.54 mm, 0.40 mm, 0.32 mm, 0.24 mm, 0.16 mm.
Tumor-like masses: 2.00 mm, 1.00 mm, 0.75 mm, 0.50 mm, 0.25 mm.
Areas of application
Technical quality assurance (QA) of mammography systems — checks and documents whether the system performs within image quality and detection capability requirements.
Preparation for accreditation (e.g. via the American College of Radiology (ACR) Mammography Accreditation Program) — phantom is approved for such use. Accreditation Support+1
Maintenance and service programs in radiology departments where repeatable and standardized tests are important.
