Pro-MAM Gold MK II

The Pro-MAM Gold MK II is an advanced phantom for mammography systems, specifically designed to evaluate and document image quality with extremely small structures and low contrast. It is based on gold discs (99.99% purity) placed in PMMA modules, and builds on the Pro-MAM Gold model. This upgraded version is made according to European protocols for quality assurance in digital mammography.


Key features and benefits

  • Gold discs placed at the depth as suggested by EUREF, with extreme accuracy (diameter accuracy ±0.001 mm, thickness accuracy ±0.1 nm) for very precise image quality assessment.

  • Possibility to vary the object's thickness through PMMA modules, allowing you to test the system's performance at different compressions and exposure conditions.

  • Designed for both analog and digital mammography units; the entire unit is made of PMMA and gold wafers only — no other materials such as aluminum require conversion.

  • Includes software (Diagnomatic Pro-Control) for automatic or semi-automatic analysis of images and calculation of "Contrast-Details" curves.

  • Meets the requirements of:
    4th edition of the European Guidelines for Quality Assurance in Breast Cancer Screening and Diagnosis (EPQC)
    EUREF type test protocol version 1.2 – IEC 61223-3-2


Technical specifications

  • Sizes: The main module is available in 240 × 180 mm or 300 × 240 mm .

  • Contents: Main module of 20 mm thickness contains 672 gold discs (99.99%) .

  • Disc diameters: 21 different diameters from 0.08 mm to 2.00 mm .

  • Thickness ranges for gold discs: For diameter 2.00 mm: 5 nm–110 nm; for diameter 0.08 mm: 600 nm–2800 nm, all in 16 steps.

  • Location: The discs are placed 10 mm below the surface.

  • Also comes with:
    2 additional PMMA plates of 10 mm each (thickness accuracy approx. 0.05 mm)
    2 additional PMMA plates of 5 mm each (thickness accuracy approx. 0.05 mm)
    Carrying case included.
