Pro-MRI SpineRect

Pro-MRI SpineRect

The Pro-MRI SpineRect is a rectangular MRI phantom from Diagnomatic, designed to simulate the attenuation characteristics of the human spine. It is suitable for quality assurance (QA) and performance testing of MRI systems, covering parameters related to geometry and image uniformity.

Key features and benefits

  • Simulation of backbone attenuation in a form that provides realistic testing environment for coil and module layouts.

  • Rectangular shape (372 × 150 × 148 mm) makes it well suited for systems with a hob or special coil geometries.

  • Ideal for unambiguous orientation and positioning: physical marking of axes is integrated into the surface.

  • CE certified and designed in line with international standards for MRI-QA: American College of Radiology (ACR), Institute of Physics and Engineering in Medicine (IPEM) Report 80 and American Association of Physicists in Medicine (AAPM) Report 28/34/100.

Technical specifications

  • Internal dimensions: approx. 372 mm × 150 mm × 148 mm.

  • Material: PMMA (acrylic) should provide a stable mechanical structure.

  • Filling: Solution with nickel chloride and sodium chloride to simulate attenuation.

  • Surface marking: Axes marked for easy orientation and repeatable positioning.

  • Handles: Integrated carry handles for transport and easy handling in the clinic/department.

Areas of application

  • QA and calibration of MRI systems, especially in scenarios where one wants to simulate the structure and attenuation properties of the spine.

  • Clinical and research environments that want to document system performance in terms of geometry, contrast, and uniformity under realistic conditions.

  • Training and procedure establishment for MRI departments that want consistent test protocols and good traceability.
