Maxwell PECT
Maxwell PECT is a powerful and intuitive pulsed eddy-current (PEC) inspection system , designed for demanding industrial environments – including splash zones, subsea and ROV operations. The system is particularly well suited for inspection of carbon and low alloy steel components without direct contact with the steel surface.
Key features:
• Measurement through non-conductive and non-magnetic materials such as insulation, paint, coatings, marine growth and composite layers – ideal for CUI and CUF.
• Capacity to measure wall thicknesses of up to 65 mm with a maximum lifting distance of up to 250 mm.
• Withstands surface temperatures up to 550 °C (1020 °F).
• Superior signal-to-noise ratio and IP65 protection for use in harsh environments.
• Fast data acquisition (typically 2 measurements per second) with real-time analysis and easy reporting directly on the device screen or PC.
• Built-in robust tablet/desktop unit for data collection, battery operation with hot-swap function and long life.
• Supplied with four standard probes (S, M, L, XL), cables up to 100 m, reference plate, carrying belt, batteries, charger and transport equipment.
Typical applications:
• Inspection of corrosion under insulation, coatings, paint or marine growth
• Offshore and subsea inspection in splash zones
• Measurement of wall thickness under high temperature and in harsh environments
• In-service inspection of tank floors and annular rings with special probe for narrow openings
